What is the City Nature Challenge?
Thousands of people from across the globe will get outside to look for nature in their cities! Results will be announced on Friday May 6th, 2019.

What is a Bioblitz?
A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time.

The 2019 City Nature Challenge will take place in two parts:
April 26-29, 2019 - Taking pictures of wild plants and animals
April 30-May 5, 2019 - Identifying what was found

How Can I Take Part?
It's easy!
Download the free app iNaturalist.

Find wildlife: It can be any plant, animal, fungi, slime mold, or any other evidence of life (scat, fur, tracks, shells, carcasses!) found in your participating city.

Take a picture of what you find: Be sure to note the location of the critter or plant.

Share your observations: By uploading your findings through iNaturalist
