Reverse Christmas Parade Parade Registration

  2. PARADE GUIDELINES

    Please read and agree to all of the parade guidelines below:

  3. Participation is free.*

  4. No organizations or individuals will be permitted to ask for or accept donations of any kind during the parade.*

  5. As the parade attendees will be in moving cars, and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, distribution of candy/materials/goodies will be permitted but person handing them out must wear a mask and gloves. Candy must also be placed in a baggie or some other type of bag to prevent spillage.*

  6. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, parade applicants with groups of more than 15 in their unit will be required to wear face masks.*

  7. The City of Lowell & Gaston County Parks and Recreation are hosting Santa in the parade.*

    No other individuals will be permitted to dress as Santa. Any individuals other than the official Santa hosted by the City of Lowell and Gaston County Parks and Recreation who is dressed as Santa will be removed from the parade.

  8. Vehicles will drive by the passenger side of parade floats/vehicles. You will want to focus your decorations to be seen on the passenger side.*

  9. Parade participants must follow parade personnel and police direction.*

  10. Each participating unit is responsible for keeping their designated line-up area clean and will need to bring trash bags to clean up any mess around their location, including animal waste, garbage, decorations, etc.*

  11. Parade staging details will be emailed to 48 hours prior to the parade.*

  12. Line-Up: All parade participants must arrive on December 12th between 1:00 - 2:15 p.m. at George Poston Park.*

    Line-Up is on a First-Come Basis. Spots will NOT be reserved for any participants/floats/units. If you would like to be next to a group/unit please arrive to line-up together.

  13. All signage and props must stay on the vehicle/float.*

  14. Candles, fire, or open flame on any entrant is prohibited.*

  15. The Reverse Christmas Parade is a family-friendly event for all ages, and every entry in the parade is expected to respect this.*

    All costumes, outfits, behavior, attitude, language, and dance moves must be appropriate for a young audience and will be held to a high standard. Failure to comply may result in being asked to leave the parade immediately with no warning and may jeopardize a group’s approval to participate in future years. All decisions are at the discretion of Parade officials and are final.

  16. Parade officials reserve the right to restrict, limit, or reject (at any time including during the parade) any entry that in the sole determination of parade officials is inflammatory, controversial, and/or upsetting, or does not abide by the rules and regulations. *

  23. PARADE AGREEMENT AND INDEMNIFICATION

  24. The Entrant, by his authorized signature below, hereby agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend the City of Lowell and Gaston County, its elected and appointed officials, employees, agents and successors in interest from all claims, damages, losses and expenses, including attorneys’ fees, arising out of or resulting, directly or indirectly, from the Entrant’s participation in the Reverse Christmas Parade, provided that such claim, damage, loss or expenses is injury no caused by grossly negligent act of omission, or willful misconduct of the City of Lowell or Gaston County, its elected and appointed officials, of its employees acting within the scope of their employment. This Hold Harmless and Indemnification Clause shall in no way be limited by any financial responsibility or insurance requirements and shall survive the termination of this Parade Entry Form. The Entrant understands that any misrepresentation in this application, deviation from the final approved specifications and activities described herein, or failure to abide by all Federal, State and Local laws, ordinances, policies and procedures may result in the immediate revocation of this approved Parade Permit and refusal to issue a permit in the future. The Entrant, by his authorized signature below, hereby authorizes the City and County and/or its designee(s) to take photographs, videotape, record, or produce communications for this and/or future events for publicity, promotion, and media coverage.

  25. Acknowledgement of Parade Agreement and Indemnification*

    By checking the box below, the Entrant: (i) attests that he or she understands and shall comply with all of the guidelines and information provided on this Parade Entry Form; (ii) attests that all of the information he or she provided on the Parade Entry Form is accurate to the best of his or her knowledge, and (iii) authorizes that the Town and/or its designee(s) to take photographs, videotape, record, or produce communications for this and/or future events for publicity, promotion, and media coverage.
