City of Lowell Announces Resignation of City Manager

LOWELL, NC – The City of Lowell regrets to announce the resignation of Scott Attaway, our City Manager, effective July 26, 2024. Attaway has served our community for a combined eight years, including his previous role as the City of Lowell Planning Director.

Since assuming the role of City Manager in October 2020, Attaway has been instrumental in advancing the City of Lowell’s vision for growth and community development. He has overseen key initiatives that have strengthened our fiscal responsibility, enhanced public services, improved city operations, and fostered economic opportunities for our residents.

The decision to resign was a personal one for Attaway, and while we are saddened to see him leave, we respect his choice and thank him for his dedicated service to the City of Lowell. We are grateful for his leadership, professionalism, and commitment to our city’s welfare.

The City Council will begin the process of searching for either an interim City Manager or a permanent replacement.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Scott Attaway and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.
